Choose Your Friends Wisely

As an "unskilled" empath - ultrasensitive- it is very important for you to realize that the people around you who are closest to you can either make or break your "mood".....so it is equally important for you to keep the people with the highest and most positive energy around you as much as you can. Obviously, in work situations, we normally do not choose our coworkers so that can still be an issue in bringing you down emotionally, but as we start to befriend new people we can "tune in" to see how we feel when we are around them. If we feel any kind of uneasiness or "grating" feeling, or want to run away when we are near them - TUNE INTO that feeling and become one with it, because that is the real YOU telling you to hightale it out of there!

Case in point: Years ago when I was an unskilled ultrasensitive, my friends and I had an acquaintance I will call "Steve" (not his real name). He "seemed" to do and be everything right to all people - people used to call him "Steve perfect" and he really did seem that way. However, every time he was near me I just felt that something wasn't right and I didn't like to be around him and I would keep my distance. Years later his true self came out and people saw him for who he really was and things started to fall apart for him. Trust what you are feeling when you are around people - you are NOT crazy! :-)

  1. Whew, that's good! While I don't think of myself as ultrasensitive (just sensitive), this is something I've been trying to do. I decided to avoid "people who make me cringe." I can't always explain why, but I can feel the cringing.
